Chris Goodswen is a distinguished 3D character artist renowned for his significant contributions to the video game industry. Based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, he has garnered extensive experience in creating high and low poly models, textures, and materials for in-game use, adhering closely to conceptual designs and art direction. His expertise spans various styles and platform limitations, from mobile devices to current-generation consoles, with a particular proficiency in Physically Based Rendering (PBR) texturing techniques.
Chris’s professional journey includes notable tenures at several esteemed institutions. From February 2010 to December 2011, he served as a 3D Character Artist and Modeller, as well as a Part-Time Lecturer in 3D Modelling at Norwich University College of the Arts. In this dual role, he imparted knowledge on 3D modelling techniques and their applications in game development, providing in-depth training in industry-standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, and Photoshop. He also mentored students in game development using industry engines, contributing to the success of teams like Swallow Tail Games, who were nominated for a BAFTA in 2011 through the Dare to be Digital competition.
