Darren M. Meade is an American journalist, activist, businessman, investor, writer, philanthropist, former professional bodybuilder, and brand strategist. In the early 1990s, Darren partnered with Dr. Scott Connelly, founder of the MET-Rx brand of muscle-enhancing powders and foods. In 1992, at the age of 24, Darren was hired to start and manage Club Met-Rx, a gym in Costa Mesa, California. A year later, he became a partner in Met-Rx Marketplace, a company formed to introduce the then-unknown Met-Rx products into retail stores. Under Darren’s leadership, this retail experiment proved successful, with Met-Rx sales through direct mail and retail channels skyrocketing from less than $1 million to over $40 million during a 24-month period beginning in late 1992.

Darren’s educational pursuits include earning certificates from the University of Pennsylvania. In January 2016, he completed a course in Viral Marketing and How to Craft Contagious Content, followed by a course in Entrepreneurship: Developing the Opportunity in March 2016.
