Gary Buchanan is a seasoned public relations and social media professional with over two decades of experience in the entertainment and hospitality industries. He began his career at Walt Disney World Resort in 1989, where he was chosen as the first intern for the Public Relations Department. This opportunity marked the beginning of a long and successful career, as Buchanan made it his goal to return to Disney and rejoin the PR team. After working in Nashville as a newspaper reporter, he returned to Disney in 1996, where he would go on to shape numerous public relations campaigns for Disney Parks, resorts, and special events. His extensive experience spans across multiple Disney resorts globally, including assignments in Hong Kong, Paris, California, and Hawaii, further broadening his international scope in the PR field.

Buchanan’s work at Disney involved overseeing many high-profile projects. He played a key role in the PR efforts for new Disney attractions and major resort openings, including Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Pop Century Resort. Additionally, he contributed to large-scale media events like the Disney Marathon and Star Wars Weekends. His expertise also extended to celebrity PR outreach, working closely with visiting talent and managing media events for high-profile figures.
