Gerry Mcintyre

In June 2000, McIntyre founded GMPdigital, a commercial photography studio in Sacramento, where he continues to serve as the owner and lead photographer. His studio offers a range of services, including personal branded portraits, product photography, food photography, and LinkedIn portraits. Prior to establishing GMPdigital, he owned and operated Gerry McIntyre Photography from May 1993 to June 2000, during which he created advertising, corporate communications, and executive portrait photography. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his craft have been evident throughout his career.

From October 1989 to May 1993, McIntyre served as the Manager of Bee Photo Services at The Sacramento Bee. In this role, he was responsible for creating photography for The Bee Advertiser, the marketing department, and the in-house art department. He also traveled extensively to photograph the annual report for McClatchy Newspapers at various properties across the country. This experience broadened his perspective and honed his skills in capturing diverse subjects and settings.

McIntyre’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Photography from the Brooks Institute of Photography, where he studied from 1977 to 1980. His concentration was in commercial, portrait, industrial, and advertising photography. During his time at Brooks Institute, he was actively involved in the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) and participated in soccer, reflecting his well-rounded interests.

Beyond his professional endeavors, McIntyre has been an active member of the ASMP for over 30 years and has contributed to the Professional Photographers of the Sacramento Valley (PPSV). His commitment to community service is evident through his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America, where he served as Scoutmaster of Troop 1 in Sacramento for six years. In his leisure time, he enjoys soccer, hiking, biking, and running, activities that complement his dynamic lifestyle.
