Gil Yehuda is an accomplished executive and strategist with a deep expertise in open-source technology, enterprise architecture, and risk management. With over 20 years of experience in technology leadership, Gil has become a prominent figure in driving innovation and organizational growth through open-source solutions. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Open Source at U.S. Bank, where he established and leads the Open Source Program Office. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the open-source strategy, ensuring compliance, managing security risks, and leading technology modernization efforts. Gil’s leadership has been instrumental in transforming how U.S. Bank approaches open-source technologies, fostering collaboration, and improving the quality and security of software solutions across the organization.

Before his role at U.S. Bank, Gil worked at Verizon and Yahoo, where he significantly advanced their open-source and open-standards policies. As Sr. Director of Open Source and Open Standards at Verizon, he developed and implemented comprehensive strategies for managing over 500 projects and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements. He was also responsible for handling the company’s legal and business development concerns related to open-source technologies, supporting over 50 mergers and acquisitions, and cultivating key relationships with open-source foundations such as the Apache Software Foundation and the Linux Foundation. His expertise in managing large-scale open-source programs made him a pivotal figure in the company’s digital transformation initiatives.

Gil’s career spans diverse industries, including finance, telecommunications, and technology, where he has played a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions. His extensive experience includes advising organizations on governance, risk mitigation, and best practices for managing open-source software.
