James E. Bartlett, II, PhD

Dr. Bartlett’s academic journey includes significant roles at several other institutions. At the University of South Carolina, from August 2003 to June 2007, he was an Assistant Professor in Business Education and Training within the College of Hospitality, Sports, and Retail Management’s Department of Retailing. He also served as the Director of Graduate Programs in the same department from August 2005 to June 2007. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor in Human Resource Education at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, from June 2001 to June 2003, where he also contributed as a Research Associate in the Office of Community College Leadership and Research and the National Research Center for Career and Technical Education. His early academic appointments include positions at Ball State University and Bloomsburg University, where he focused on business education.

Dr. Bartlett’s educational background is rooted in vocational and business education. He earned his Ph.D. in Vocational Education from Louisiana State University’s School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development in 1999, receiving the Delta Pi Epsilon Outstanding Dissertation Award. Prior to his doctoral studies, he obtained a Master of Education in Business Education in 1996 and a Bachelor of Science in Business Education in 1995, both from Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s College of Business and Information Technology.
