James Ring

Since November 2006, James has been a pivotal member of WTXF FOX 29 News. Initially joining as a News Video Editor and Videographer, he transitioned to the role of Special Projects Video Editor in September 2014. In this capacity, he edits same-day packages, show openings, and daily content, contributing significantly to the station’s dynamic programming. In September 2019, James expanded his skill set by becoming an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot, enhancing news gathering with aerial footage. His role also includes editing and videography for “The ClassH-room” game show, where he was instrumental in creating engaging game segments and preparing episodes for broadcast.

Before his tenure at FOX 29 News, James honed his editing and production skills at CN8 News Network from January 2003 to January 2006. As an AVID Media Composer Editor, he crafted feature stories for “Your Morning Show” and handled various editing tasks for newscasts. His responsibilities extended to overseeing the editing and organization of show tapes, ensuring seamless production workflows. Earlier in his career, from 2000 to 2002, James served as a Sports News Videographer at WFMZ-TV, Channel 69 News, where he shot and edited sports highlights for “The Big Ticket” sports show, laying the foundation for his future endeavors in video production.
