BIOGRAPHY

Mona Auji is a highly accomplished Associate Actuary and Defined Benefit Pension Consultant with over 15 years of experience in the pension consulting field. Currently working at CBIZ Retirement Plan Services, Mona specializes in providing client-focused solutions to public pension plans, occupational pension funds, private banks, and corporations. Her expertise lies in analyzing complex data and building financial models to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of pension schemes. Mona has established a reputation for managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a sharp attention to detail, making her a valuable asset to both her clients and her team.

Mona’s professional journey began in Beirut, Lebanon, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, with a focus on Statistics, from the American University of Beirut (AUB). She complemented her studies with a minor in Economics, providing her with a well-rounded foundation for her career in actuarial science. After completing her undergraduate degree, Mona pursued further education in the United Kingdom, earning a Post-Graduate Diploma in Actuarial Science from the University of Kent. She completed all the necessary pre-ASA exams in less than 10 months, ranking second in her class, an impressive achievement that demonstrated her dedication and technical expertise.

In addition to her role at CBIZ, Mona has served as a Senior Associate Actuary and shareholder at i.e. Muhanna & Co, an actuarial consultancy based in Lebanon. At i.e. Muhanna & Co, Mona led teams, managed client relationships, and provided actuarial consulting services for various clients, including government agencies and corporations. Her work included advising on retirement schemes and helping clients navigate the complexities of actuarial models and pension systems. Throughout her career, Mona has been dedicated to ensuring that her clients receive the most accurate, timely, and effective pension solutions, which has earned her widespread respect in her field.

Mona’s contributions to the actuarial field extend beyond consulting. She has co-authored several policy papers and research studies on topics ranging from the economic and social implications of raising the minimum wage in Lebanon to the extension of social insurance coverage to expatriates in the UAE. Her academic background and extensive professional experience have allowed her to contribute valuable insights to the broader conversation on retirement systems and social security. Mona has also participated in a range of workshops, including those hosted by the World Bank, further expanding her knowledge and expertise in poverty analysis, inequality, and pension system methodologies.

She is a certified yoga teacher (RYT® 200) and enjoys playing soccer and basketball. Additionally, Mona is passionate about hiking, often exploring mountain and trail paths in her free time. She is also an avid puzzle enthusiast, enjoying activities such as solving New York Times crossword puzzles and Sudoku. When not engaging in physical activities or solving puzzles, Mona enjoys baking pies and cookies and reading science fiction and fantasy novels.
