Prior to this role, from 2019 to July 2023, Noreika served as the IT Operations Manager at Sumitomo Rubber USA. He established, managed, coached, and motivated IT operations staff, including engineers, administrators, technicians, and help desk personnel, in an environment supporting over 1,400 users utilizing technologies such as VMware, Windows, Linux, SQL, Cisco, FortiGate, WiFi, and IP-Phones. He was responsible for the purchase, function, and management of all technology assets and systems in the company’s data center, a 2 million square foot factory, and a test track facility in Huntsville, Alabama.
Noreika’s extensive experience also includes a significant tenure at the Bank of Akron, where he held multiple leadership positions. From 2018 to 2019, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, reporting to the CEO/President and serving as a member of Executive Management. In this role, he provided strategic technology vision, implementation, risk management, project management, and multi-location support. He held financial accountability for the IT Department, developing and managing an annual budget of $1.2 million, and translated business needs into technology requirements. He also championed and managed IT projects, cost/benefit analysis, vendor selection, contract negotiation, system implementations, and procedures, while handling risk assessment, compliance, and IT security. Additionally, from 2017 to 2019, he served as Chief Information Security Officer, providing comprehensive cybersecurity management, monitoring, risk assessment, and compliance, and served as the point of contact for reporting cybersecurity events and compliance to the New York State Department of Financial Services.
Earlier in his career at the Bank of Akron, Noreika held roles including Security Officer, Facilities Manager, Vice President of Information Technology, Assistant Vice President of Information Technology, and Network Administrator. In these positions, he developed and implemented the bank’s security and safety programs, managed facility vendors and staff supporting multiple buildings and associated grounds, and maintained network administration duties while managing operations staff. Before his tenure at the Bank of Akron, he worked at Protective Industries, Caplugs & Mokon as a Network Administrator and System Support Specialist, where he gained valuable experience in network administration and system support.
