In 2002, Randy expanded his horizons internationally when he joined Bema Gold Corp. in Russia. He worked as the General Manager for two of the company’s mining projects, the Julietta Mine and the Kupol Mine. At Julietta, Randy played a key role in transitioning the mine from development to production while maintaining strict control over the project’s budget. He also contributed to the mine’s excellent safety record, helping the site achieve over 21 months without any accidents. At Kupol, Randy oversaw the development of a world-class gold mine, managing a team of miners and technical staff to ensure its success. His leadership in these projects further solidified his reputation as a skilled mining executive with expertise in safety, operations, and cost management.

In 2007, Randy served as the Chief Operating Officer for Oriel Resources, where he was responsible for overseeing operations, including a ferrochrome smelter in Russia. During his time with Oriel, Randy successfully transitioned the smelter from construction to operation and oversaw the commissioning of three additional furnaces. His leadership contributed to Oriel’s eventual acquisition by Mechel for $1.5 billion, a testament to Randy’s ability to drive value and growth in his projects. Following this, he continued to take on executive roles with junior mining producers, further strengthening his ability to guide mining projects from development to production while improving safety and reducing costs.

In 2013, after more than two decades of experience in mining operations, Randy founded NW3 Mining Consultants Inc. The firm provides services such as project due diligence, troubleshooting, and the implementation of cost-reduction strategies.
