Stacey Shells is a distinguished education leader with a proven track record of improving academic performance in under-resourced communities. As the Managing Director of Victory Education Partners in Chicago, Stacey has led a remarkable turnaround in three charter school campuses on the South side of the city. Under her leadership, academic growth in English language arts, math, and science has been substantial, with the schools ranking in the 90th percentile nationally on the NWEA assessment measure within just a year. Stacey’s focus on elevating academic standards and providing equitable educational opportunities has made her a respected figure in the education management sector.
Stacey’s career in education began as a guidance counselor in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she worked with high school students in inner-city schools. After three years, Stacey recognized her passion for academic achievement and decided to shift her focus to creating systemic change within the education system. This led her to join Teach for America, where she taught in Baltimore, Maryland, and then continued her teaching career in New York City public schools for another five years. Her experience in both Baltimore and New York City solidified her commitment to improving educational outcomes for disadvantaged students, which ultimately shaped the trajectory of her career.
