BIOGRAPHY

Will Prentice is a seasoned professional photographer and business owner based in Whitby, Ontario, with over two decades of experience in the photography and imaging industry. As the founder and owner of Captura Photography & Imaging, Will has established himself as an expert in capturing meaningful moments through portraits, events, and special occasions. His passion for photography and his commitment to providing exceptional customer service have made Captura one of the top choices for portrait photography in the Durham Region, York Region, Kawarthas, and Lakeshore areas.

Will’s journey into the world of photography began with his tenure at Lifetouch, where he worked as a lead photographer for nearly eight years. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing a team of photographers, managing portrait sessions for over 300 schools in central Ontario, and ensuring the highest quality of photographic work. Will’s leadership extended to training and mentoring new photographers, instilling a strong emphasis on customer service and photographic excellence. He played a pivotal role in improving retention rates and employee satisfaction, increasing the company’s success despite challenging economic conditions. His efforts also contributed to the growth of sales in the senior portraits division, which helped Lifetouch maintain its leadership position in the market.

After his successful stint at Lifetouch, Will decided to pursue his passion for photography on a more personal level by founding Captura Photography & Imaging in 2011. His vision for the company was to offer more personalized service and tailor photography experiences to each individual client’s needs. He specializes in a variety of photography styles, including family portraits, senior portraits, school photography, weddings, and business portraits. Will’s approach to photography focuses on building strong relationships with clients, ensuring that each photo session feels unique and comfortable. His reputation for providing an enjoyable experience along with stunning photographs has earned him recognition and loyalty from his clients.

Will’s expertise extends beyond photography to include a strong background in graphic design and business administration. He studied Business Administration at Sir Sandford Fleming College, which has provided him with a solid foundation in both creative and operational aspects of his business. His earlier work as a graphic designer and system administrator at Parks Productions allowed him to develop his skills in design, marketing, and project management. This background has contributed to his ability to manage Captura Photography & Imaging efficiently, implementing effective business strategies while maintaining a focus on creative excellence.

In addition to his professional achievements, Will is an avid cyclist and enjoys outdoor activities such as mountain biking and road cycling. His love for the outdoors and physical fitness aligns with his passion for capturing the beauty of nature and human connections through photography. Will is also a dedicated community member and enjoys making new connections, whether through his work, his personal interests, or by engaging with his local community.
