BIOGRAPHY

Will Shaw is an accomplished graphic designer and creative director with over two decades of experience in the design industry. He is the president and creative director of Taphouse Graphics, a design agency that specializes in brand identity and corporate design. Will’s strategic and creative approach has made him a highly sought-after expert in the field, delivering impactful designs for a wide range of organizations, from startups to well-established brands. Under his leadership, Taphouse Graphics has become known for its ability to develop distinctive brand identities that resonate with audiences and set companies apart in competitive markets.

Will’s career began with a strong academic foundation, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia Southern University, followed by graduate studies in visual communication at the prestigious Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia. This combination of education and hands-on experience allowed Will to develop a deep understanding of both the artistic and business aspects of design, laying the groundwork for his future success. Early in his career, Will worked as an art director at Zoom180 Design Studios, where he gained invaluable experience working with high-profile clients like Coca-Cola, Burger King, Six Flags, and NASCAR. This exposure to large-scale projects helped hone his skills in corporate identity and retail point-of-purchase design, positioning him as a key player in the design world.

Following his work at Zoom180, Will joined Discovery Channel as a graphic designer, where he contributed to the design development of national strategic programs for several of Discovery Communications’ brands, including TLC, Animal Planet, and the Travel Channel. During this time, he collaborated with a talented team of creatives to drive brand awareness and revenue through engaging, brand-consistent graphics. Will’s role at Discovery Channel further strengthened his expertise in creating cohesive visual identities that resonate across multiple platforms.

In 2003, Will transitioned to Williams-Sonoma, Inc., where he worked as a senior graphic designer. In this role, he was responsible for designing in-store marketing, advertising, and loyalty programs for over 130 stores. He led initiatives to develop marketing collateral, special promotions, and customer-facing elements such as video kiosks and window graphics. His work contributed significantly to Williams-Sonoma’s retail development efforts and its customer acquisition and retention strategies.

As the founder and executive director of Artists Against Autism (AAA), a non-profit organization, Will used his design expertise to create a platform that connects graphic designers, art directors, and copywriters with businesses in need of creative services. Through AAA, he has dedicated a portion of the revenue generated from creative projects to support beneficiaries focused on autism awareness and research. This initiative underscores Will’s commitment to using his talents to support charitable causes and make a positive impact on society.

In 2009, Will founded Taphouse Graphics, where he continues to lead the charge in developing brands that are not only intelligible but also lovable and valuable. His passion for brand identity and his ability to create lasting connections between brands and their audiences have earned him numerous design awards and recognition in multiple design publications.
